RMHAM-U Draws a Crowd

Saturday November 17th saw over 40 hams come out to learn how to provide IP in challenging terrain in support of served agencies. This class explored the planning, configuring and deployment of a network using point-to-point microwave links, commercial satellite and cell links, and mesh networking using the real life experiences that RMHAM members gained over the past few years working the ”Golden Gate Dirty Thirty” Trail Running event in Golden Gate Canyon State Park. This class was presented by Willem AC0KQ John W0VG and Chris AE5IT, who were the design and implementation team for the event. They shared their firsthand knowledge of creating the infrastructure necessary for a successful deployment at an event in held in rugged terrain.
