5/4/13 Highlands Ranch, Colorado.  Rocky Mountain Ham Radio in support of Colorado AuxComm and the Colorado Office of Emergency Management assisted in an exercise with most major municipalities at the Highlands Ranch Law Enforcement Training Facility to prove interoperability between each other and also interface with the US Military communications support groups.

The Rocky Mountain Ham Radio trailer was included in the exercise because it’s capabilities are the same as an MCCU or Mobile Command and Communications Unit.  All federal and state interoperable channels were tested as well as ham radio VHF, UHF and Packet frequencies.  Messages were sent via voice to test all local channels as well as testing packet capability to the military.

MARS frequencies were tested between Fort Huachuca, AZ as well as other locations.  Photos of the exercise are available in the gallery above!
