Sunday, August 31, 2014 three different groups came together to complete the Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado Springs installation. The Colorado Connection, Colorado Repeater Association and Rocky Mountain Ham Radio installed a spur of new microwave, digital linking and new GE MASTR III repeaters. This day was the culmination of years of design an implementation to attempt to upgrade the system usability of their respective systems. As of the writing of this email, the link to Colorado Springs was very solid and the quality of the audio on the system is exceptional compared to the old analog linking systems.

The CRA also installed their digital link in Colorado Springs and will be completing the tie in to their Conifer Mountain and Lee Hill sites.

In addition to the update of these links, Rocky Mountain Ham Radio has installed a new MotoTRBO repeater on Cheyenne Mountain to bring DMR-MARC into the Colorado Springs area. For more information as to the available MotoTRBO offerings, please see MotoTRBO in the menu above.
