Non-Discrimination Policy for Rocky Mountain Ham Radio

Rocky Mountain Ham Radio (RMHAM) is committed to fostering an inclusive amateur radio community and volunteer workplace environment that promotes diversity and inclusion. RMHAM does not and shall not exclude, deny benefits to, or otherwise discriminate against any person, club, organization, or community on the grounds of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression or identity, marital status, sexual orientation, age, pregnancy, ancestry, disability, genetic information, medical history, religion, or military status, in admission to, participation in, or receipt of the services and benefits under any of its programs and activities, and in staff and employee assignments, whether carried out by RMHAM directly or through a contractor or any other entity with which our partnerships arrange to carry out by our combined events, opportunities, programs, and activities.

This statement is in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (nondiscrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (nondiscrimination on the basis of disability), the Age Discrimination Act of 1975 (nondiscrimination on the basis of age), regulations of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued pursuant to these three statutes at Title 45 Code of Federal Regulations Parts 80, 84, and 91, (and state laws or corporate policies, etc.).

Additionally, in accordance with Section 1557 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, 42 U.S.C. § 18116, Rocky Mountain Ham Radio does not exclude, deny benefits to, or otherwise discriminate against any person on the grounds of sex (including gender identity) in admission to, participation in, or receipt of the services and benefits under any of its services, programs, and activities, and in board member assignments, whether carried out by RMHAM directly or through a contractor or any other entity with which our partnerships arrange to carry out our combined events, opportunities, programs, and activities.

Members, board members, partnerships, and the communities we serve are encouraged to report discrimination promptly. Our designated Section 504 Coordinator can receive and respond to discrimination complaints, and individuals may report discrimination seven days a week from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Reasonable Accommodations

As the law requires, we will provide reasonable accommodations to members, partnerships, and board members for medical or religious reasons. Including offering a Language Identification Chart, use of Google Translate, and TTY-based Telecommunication Relay Services (TRS).

Non-Retaliation

Individuals will not face punishment for reporting discrimination, participating in investigations, or opposing discriminatory practices.

Confidentiality

The confidentiality of individuals reporting discrimination will be protected to the greatest extent possible.

Investigation and Action

The RMHAM Section 504 Coordinator will ensure prompt, thorough, and impartial investigation of complaints. Prompt and effective corrective and preventative action will be taken when necessary.
