2025, a Year in Review

This has been a busy year for RMHAM. RMHAM University kicked off the year with Jim KA6ETE presenting Designing Objects for 3D Printing. The SwapFest followed in February on a snowy, but clearing day. It was a good time to interact with lots of people. RMHAM University finished with our final use of the Cherry Creek School District educational building, which is scheduled for demolition. Several RMHAM members supported the  Arkansas Valley Radio Club in La Junta and extended the RMHAM microwave backbone and our DMR repeater system into southeastern Colorado. Leading up to Field Day we had antenna building and checkout. Field Day provided us with a chance to check out our equipment and practice operating, while several members took a side trip to Badger to do some maintenance. We all had some fun! We operated as a 4A station this year, placing 6th in our category! We had 47 attendees turn out at the Taylor Ranch for our 2025 Field Day effort. August was busy with our first Summer SwapFest which was well attended and a wonderful time. Summer provided a chance to visit high altitude sites for repairs and maintenance as well. September found many of our members working on HamCon Colorado 2025. In October many of us finalized our plans and traveled to Grand Junction for the convention and even made a side trip for maintenance at the Grand Mesa repeater site. November provided some time for rest and recovery. In December, with Giving Tuesday, requests for donations were made to support activities and many stepped up with their monetary assistance. There is still time to donate and take advantage of a 2025 tax deduction! The remaining part of December will be a great time to rest, wish our fellow members and the amateur radio community a happy holiday season, and get ready for a wonderful 2026 to come!
