Sample Codeplugs

Rocky Mountain Ham Radio maintains a Google Group that will keep you informed of codeplug changes. If you’d like to subscribe to the Google Group, please send a message to the group owner(s). You MUST INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS in the body of the message! CLICK HERE. This link may also be used to send private messages to the list owner(s) This Codeplug Subscriber’s Google Group is available to notify other users about DMR programming if you choose to share what you learn.

RMHam provides these sample codeplugs (DMR radio programs) as a service to its members who are encouraged to use them as a template to create/tailor a codeplug personalized for their own use. They are not intended to be all inclusive. These codeplugs are maintained by volunteers. If you don’t see a codeplug for your radio, it’s likely not popular enough for someone to create a “sample codeplug.” Consider supporting DMR and RMHAM by creating a codeplug for your radio and supplying updates as needed to us.

If you don’t see it listed here, we don’t support codeplugs on that radio type.  We likely don’t have anything on it and we’re not going to support a one-off.

If you want to get into DMR, the learning curve is massively steep.  Think very carefully before you buy something that is NOT listed here.

Please note that these codeplugs are only updated when errors are identified or compelling additions need to be made. End users should maintain the contact lists in their codeplugs themselves.

Comments, and questions, please contact the individual codeplug maintainers directly.

MOTOROLA USER NOTE: If you use CPS 2.0, any version, on an XPR4000, XPR6000, or XPR8000 series radio/repeater, we cannot provide support to you. These radio series were end-of-life before CPS2.0 was introduced. We know that some folks have gotten programming these devices to work, but this is *big* risk and can easily permanently brick your radio as well as lose functionality. If you haven’t done so already, please DO NOT move to CPS2.0 if you have these versions of radio. STICK WITH CPS 1, 16 Build 828!  You gain nothing.

ANYTONE NOTES: Be careful when attempting to convert between CPS/FW versions that support 1 Color Code per channel and those that support separate Color Codes for TX and RX. The conversion can often be incomplete.  Any radios limited to 16 channels in a zone those zones will be split alphabetically.

The N0GSG utility is not perfect when doing a structural import from an Anytone .dcf file. If a channel name has too many characters, even if the radio model and utility support the name, it will leave the channel out of Zones and Scan Lists, requiring manual review and correction. The utility will also not set correct default settings such as Reference Frequency. This was I noticed when doing structural imports from Anytone .dcf files and Connect Systems and TYT; once corrected, import within the radio families with the utility seems to work fine.

AnytoneAT-D168UV / AT-D578UV / AT-D868UV / AT-D878UVApril 18, 2026Codeplug Team (rmham@rmham.org)- Reordered DMR Channels for better management
- Corrected TX/RX Color Codes for those codeplugs that split them out (caused by conversion error)
- Numerous edits of individual channels identified by the community (incorrect names, duplicates, switched Talk Groups, etc.)
- CSV exports of each codeplug included
- DCF versions of each codeplug included
- Special notes for Anytone 878 Radios:
- The 878 Radios have 2 released versions, commonly known as V1 and V2. There are separate CPSs for each version, and separate codeplugs for each.
- The latest CPS/FW for the 878 (4.0) split the color code into TX/RX similar to the 168. Thus, the 4.0 CPS for the V1 and V2 radios also have separate codeplugs, denoted by FW4 in the file name.

To any prospective codeplug maintainers:

There are requirements that RMHAM has to have your codeplug listed on this system.

  1. The codeplug must follow the same layout as the standard RMHAM codeplug, same layout, channels, zones, systems to match.  We do realize that there are differences that cannot be supported in all radios and we will allow that.
  2. The maintainer MUST commit to updating the codeplugs when changes are made (ie, color code changes, talkgroup changes, new sites, etc.)  If you choose not to update your codeplugs when necessary, your codeplugs will be removed from the list.
  3. You do not have to maintain the contact list.
  4. Please contact Mike k0nga@arrl.net to have the codeplug listed.  Please allow a few days for him to answer your emails.  Other contacts will only delay your response!
