The weather at the Field Day site made for a wonderful Field Day Weekend, even though there were some rough patches in getting set up. It was in the 70’s and there were no thunderstorms or lightning which allowed us to operate over the entire allotted time. The preparation done for Field Day with the antennas was helpful. Unfortunately, we found other items which had issues and needed to be fixed. Sixty-one people were at the Field Day site during the event, with 22 being non RMHAM members. As Field Day is really about the food, dinner on Saturday evening was a smorgasbord of sides and desserts (including key lime pie) to compliment the various meat tacos. On Sunday morning, some of the attendees used their problem solving skills in opening a locked vehicle to retrieve the keys. Our educational activity for the weekend was given by Mike K7AIH, having people tying knots which are used in rigging when working on towers and supporting climbers. The event had a strong finish with lots of CW, Phone, and Digital contacts. With the theme of Field Day being “Radio Connects” people were enjoying camaraderie of visiting with each other. RMHAM would like to express our thanks and appreciation to the Taylor family for the use of their property for Field Day 2025. Thank you, Scott W0KVA and Stacey, for facilitating our use of the property, John W0VG for organizing and feeding people, and other RMHAM members for supporting and helping make it a wonderful Field Day.
