RMHAM completes annual meeting, Limon site operating a bit better

The RMHAM Annual Meeting was this past Wednesday. It was a bit longer than expected but good exchanges of information. One of the items on the agenda was election of officers. Rob, N0RPF, transitioned from being President to “Director at Large”. The attending members elected, Glenn, KE0UWC, as President. Wayne, N0POH informed us regarding the completion of the grant from the Amateur Radio Digital Communications (ARDC) Foundation. We discussed other upcoming site efforts.

The next day, Thursday, July 16, John, W0VG, and Mike, W9CN, were at the Limon RMHAM DMR site where John replaced a Cat5 cable with fiber to restore the microwave link into the RMHAM DMR network. The fiber restored the microwave link into the system and the site is running at 100% with backup via Bijou Telephone ISP service.

Mike provided ground support, safety and “plucky” comic relief along with running RDAC diagnostic software on the DMR UHF MTR3000 repeater to determine the source of the flashing red error light (SWR fault “minor” and 3 dB foldback). Further RF testing will be done to determine the source of the high SWR.

We will be looking to schedule a site cleanup this fall. We need to do a general site cleanup along with removing growth around the anchor points and potentially antenna and/or feed line repair depending upon the RF testing.
